Club director & Academy Director
Matt Ream is the newly appointed Club Director for DMSC in addition to his role as Academy Director. In his new role as Club Director, Matt will begin managing many of the day-to-day operations of DMSC.
Coach Ream currently serves as the head boys soccer coach at Roosevelt High School and is a founding member of local men's amateur club Des Moines Wanderers FC. With over fifteen years of coaching experience in multiple different clubs, colleges, and high schools around the country, he has unique perspective to help grow the Academy program here at our club. Coach Ream holds a USSF "B" License, USC (formerly NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma, and was a member of the 2014-15 NSCAA "30 under 30" class. Originally from California, Coach Ream earned his B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Education from UC Davis and his M.A. in Kinesiology with a perfect 4.0 G.P.A. from CSU Long Beach. He lives in West Des Moines with his wife and Drake women's soccer alum, Libby, and daughters Sophia and Nora.
Technical Director/ Select Coach
Tyger Nieters is our Technical Director. He coaches several Des Moines Soccer Club Select teams and develops the curriculum for all levels of Des Moines Soccer Club, as well as works along side all coaches to help with drills and training. He also develops in-season clinics and off-season camps.
Olivia has been coaching since the spring of 2017. This is her second year as the head coach for the Select U14 girls team. Olivia started playing soccer when she was 4 years old and played club soccer for the Fox Valley Strikers in Geneva, Illinois.
Maddie Thomas has been playing for 20+ years. She played select from age 12 to 18 and went on to play 4 years at Simpson College. Thomas has been coaching since Fall of 2018.
Greg Copeland has been coaching for 14 seasons from U6- High School. He is passionate about the game and is currently coaching the U12 Boys team.
Geoff has been playing for 25+ years and played select soccer from age 12-19. In college, he played all 4 years (2 on varsity) at Wartburg College. Following college, he coached Denver High School from 2012 to 2015 as the head coach.
