Become a Coach

Mandatory Requirements

• Register as a volunteer through PlayMetrics
• SafeSport training through Demosphere/Players Health (a link will be emailed to you once you register as a volunteer)
• Concussion training through Demosphere/Players Health (a link will be emailed to you once you register as a volunteer)

Recommended Education

• Create your profile in the US Soccer Learning Center
• Online Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Course in the US Soccer Learning Center   
• Online Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments Course in the US Soccer Learning Center
• US Soccer 4v4 Grassroots License (Coaching Kickstart through 8U)
• US Soccer 7v7 Grassroots License (Coaching 9U-10U Rec or Academy)
• US Soccer 9v9 Grassroots License (Coaching 11U-12U Rec or Select)
• US Soccer 11v11 Grassroots License (Coaching 13U-19U Rec or Select)
• US Soccer D License Pathway

It is free to create a profile and take both introduction courses. All grassroots courses can be taken online or in-person. Online grassroots courses have a registration cost of $25, but in-person courses are free with a code provided by DMSC. Contact Executive Director Matt Ream for a course code once you find an in-person course you wish to attend.

DMSC Coach Support & Benefits

Coaches who complete a successful season with DMSC are entitled to the benefits listed below:

• Head Coach — $25 credit toward next season
• Assistant Coach — $10 credit toward next season
• Coaching attire — one item of your choice from our list
